Youth Basketball Association 2025/2026
At GMYMCA YBA, players develop basketball skills, build confidence, and have fun while learning teamwork and leadership. Players should bring a water bottle, wear their program shirt, and sneakers. Open to Members and Non-Members!
Starts: Monday, December 8, 2025
Ends: Saturday, March 7, 2026
YBA Manager: Coach Kenny Smith
- All games are at the YMCA on Saturdays only (79 Horsehill Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ)
- K (Co-Ed) – 8:15am to 9:15am
- 1st Grade Boys – 9:30am to 10:30am
- 1st/2nd Girls – 10:45am to 11:45am
- 2nd Grade Boys – 12:00pm to 1:00pm
- Practices are once a week (Monday through Thursday) at either the Main Y (address above) or the Y-Zone (25 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ)
- Practice schedules will be released by the volunteer coaches closer to the first week of practice.
- Group maximums will be strictly enforced for safety.
- No buddy requests accepted.
New this season:
- Kindergarten remains co-ed.
- Starting at 1st Grade, boys and girls will play in separate leagues.
- 1st & 2nd Grade Girls will play together as one group.
- 1st Grade Boys and 2nd Grade Boys will continue as separate groups.
- Travel Teams: Travel basketball begins at the 3rd/4th Grade level this year. Tryouts for 3rd/4th Co-Ed Team and 5th/6th Grade Boys and Girls Teams will be held in October. Watch your email for tryout dates and registration details.
Registration opens: Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 8:00am
Registration closes: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 7:00pm.
Open to Members and Non-Members

- Non-members must activate a YBA Youth Basketball Association Non-Member membership.
If your child has already been in our program and has a YBA Youth Basketball Association Non-Member membership you may use that membership.

Players develop or learn basketball skills, dribbling, shooting, layups, passing and how to play together as a team. Everyone plays and encourages each other to maximize performance.
Age: Currently in 2nd Grade – 7 and 8 year old (Boys Only)
