Progressive Swim Lessons

For ages 6-12 years

This class is for those swimmers who have completed Minnow or Fish/are able to swim 50 meters of freestyle, backstroke and elementary backstroke.  This class continues stroke development and endurance.  Breaststroke and butterfly are introduced.

Goals: Butterfly for 25 meters and breaststroke for 50 meters.  Additional goals include the ability to swim 150 meters of freestyle, backstroke and elementary backstroke.

An evaluation is required prior to registering for this class. 

Evaluations come in the form of progress reports following the end of a session or an individual swim evaluation from our Aquatics staff.  Evaluations must be current (From the session that just concluded or a swim test done in the several weeks preceding registration).  Progress reports from previous sessions/swim evaluations older than three (3) months old will require re-evaluation prior to registration.

For ages 6-12 years

This group is for swimmers who have completed Polliwog 2 or are able to swim 25 meters of freestyle with rotary breathing. This class works on endurance was well as technique for freestyle, backstroke, and elementary backstroke.

Goals: Swim 25 meters of freestyle with rotary breathing and 100 meters of mixed stroke.

An evaluation is required prior to registering for this class.

For ages 6-12 years

This level is for those swimmers who have completed Guppy or are able to swim 25 meters of freestyle with rotary breathing and 100 meters of mixed stroke. In this class we continue working on endurance as well as stroke refinement in freestyle, backstroke and elementary backstroke.  Breaststroke kick is introduced in this class.

Goals: Swim 50 meters of freestyle, backstroke and elementary backstroke.

For ages 6-13

This level is for those who have completed flying fish or are proficient in all four racing strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly).  Participants work in this class to continue to refine all racing strokes as well as develop endurance.
